Outreach

The Mission’s present work with children and young people began in 1980 with an open, mixed youth club. Today it covers the areas of work listed below, and more details about these areas are given in their own web pages on this site.

In all these areas the work is led by Christians, who aim to provide a service to local children, young people and their families that is safe, of a high a standard and delivered in culturally sensitive ways. The workers also seek to live out and share their Christian faith in relevant ways with those they work with.

Most areas of activity are led by paid staff, but teams of volunteers from the church fellowship at the Mission are actively involved. They bring many abilities and varied life experiences, together with a strong commitment to their work.

Contact details for the leaders of an activity can be found on the web pages covering that area of work.

David Bishop is the Mission's outreach manager, with overall responsibility for the outreach work of the church, and he can be contacted by email at david.bishop@goodshepherdmission.org.uk.
